I worked at USG full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I loved working for this company! I had always done office work previously, but really enjoyed working here!

    Cons

We has our cabinet right by the door where the safety glasses were kept to put on/take off, I got wrote up after my work hours for taking my glasses off which I put them up as was getting ready to leave !

    Advice to Management

chill out! litigation caused lay offs, I left then.

    Pros

    Clean and up to date

    Cons

However, the management was very poor in terms of delegating responsibility and task for when they would consistently leave without notice to either work in the Chicago location or to go on their vacation for the third time in a row.

    Advice to Management

Help new employees to get to know the other employees.

I have been working at USG full-time

    Pros

    Great benefits and positive staff.

    Cons

Corporate is slow to make decisions which negatively affect its customers.

    Advice to Management

Stay focused on delivering value to customers and less on creating barriers that affect how quickly the staff can deliver to the customer.

    Negative Outlook

    I worked at USG full-time

    Pros

Coworkers were friendly and hardworking. The location by Union station is convenient.

    Cons

Annual rounds of lay offs. Every time a quarterly number is missed, the only strategy is to layoff more people. Little job security. It isn't clear how they can compete given all the debt that they need to pay off.

    Advice to Management

Plan out resource needs so we aren't hiring staff one week and laying off the next. The L&W business unit and manufacturing need to work as a team.
