I worked at UT Dallas part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The job is relatively easy if you are fit for the lifestyle. I viewed it as being paid to make friends. The housing and meal plan (along with a monthly paycheck) are great and definitely worth the time invested.

    Cons

The position seems unnecessary for many students. Our residents are adults and usually just want to be left alone. I had to be pushy sometimes to get people to participate in activities and go out. I wish we didn't have to have minimum campus engagements and could just let people be.

    Advice to Management

Let the students dictate the involvement of the Peer Advisor in their life, not the other way around. Also, more meal money and less meal plan.

I have been working at UT Dallas part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The staff are very flexible with your schedule and will always allow you off for class related reasons. There is ample time to work on class assignments during much of the year.

    Cons

The pay isn't great, but really there aren't many on campus jobs that pay a significantly higher amount. Those that do are also much busier than working in the Bursar's Office.

    Advice to Management

Management is great, always quick to assist and help the workers solve problems. Small training refreshers quarterly would be helpful.
