    Good job for students

Writing Tutor (Current Employee) Richardson, TX

ProsAs a writing center employee, I get to help students improve their writing. It's a great experience for future teachers and all the other tutors are great people. Everyone is super friendly and willing to help you out if you have a tough issue to tackle with the students.

ConsAs a student worker position, the hours are limited. It's tough to share a limited number of hours with many other tutors, but scheduling is pretty fair.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep talking to your employees. Maybe train tutors about common issues students come to see tutors for and how to work with ESL students.

    Just OK

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Richardson, TX

ProsSome job stability, benefits are not too bad.

ConsNo maternity leave, a lot of administration is ineffective when managing others, no room for growth unless you have good connections to administration on campus, not a good work life balance, high stress jobs as university grows, not a lot of room for training.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire some administrators who can successfully manage staff and faculty. Put in some kind of maternity leave on campus.
