I have been working at UXC Eclipse

    Pros

Great people to work with and usually responsive. The company is run with very tight financial scrutiny and tracking.

    Cons

The compensation plan is still being defined for bonus's. We'll see if it makes the compensation more competitive.

I have been working at UXC Eclipse full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The Dynamics consulting services are fair to occasionally good. Sales is finding its way but without any marketing support (marketing is by far the most dysfunctional department (or ecosystem as the company likes to call them) in the company; with HR coming in a close second). Project Management is need of restructure but to the company’s credit they appear to be taking note and planning improvement in this area.

    Cons

The company’s biggest setback is management’s poor credibility. Management’s words do not match its actions or are simply spin. For example, the company touts being a public company but doesn’t share it’s a lightly traded penny stock (in decline). Management states that staff come first, but this is not supported as evidenced by the employee turnover rate which is very high. The company’s policy to not provide consultants product training is odd, and its practice of employee layoffs whenever demand falls, and with no advance notice given to employees, contributes to anxiety. Overall the company is big on sound bites but the words have no follow through or substance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

UXC Eclipse has many managers but no leaders. Reconsider your willingness to really embrace leaders. The company also needs legitimate industry experts. Marketing must find direction or sales will never reach its potential. Similarly, HR appears to believe its sole role is to find ways to reduce employee compensation and benefits. I believe a new focus on employee motivation, training and retention would help considerably. Rid the corporate politics. They are unhealthy and contribute to the company’s employee turnover problem.

I have been working at UXC Eclipse full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    - UXC Eclipse does it's best to put it's people first, balanced with the commercial realities of running a business.
    - Old Fashioned Service is a real concept that is promised to the customers.
    - A culture of 'promote from within'.
    - It is very interesting how many former employee want to rejoin after leaving.
    - Management cares about people's growth (people need to understand not everyone can be a Manager).
    - Public company - required to be transparent with it's stakeholders and shareholders.

    Cons

    - UXC Eclipse does expect high standards and not everyone is able to meet those standards.
    - Depending on the role travel can be frequent and ongoing.
    - Consultants are expected to be fully skilled and knowledgeable in their product prior to joining.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Stay focused on putting people first, even though it is hard sometimes.
    - Never lose the 'Old Fashioned Service' ethos.
    - Formalise 'Associate' and other training programs.

I have been working at UXC Eclipse full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The company has a solid history with Microsoft Dynamics.

    Cons

The company talks a good game, but it's actions don't back up its words. The Americas COO is weak. Marketing is terribly weak. Sales is mixed - some good people but many weak staff. The executive team is in place because of tenure, not talent. The company is extremely political and all direction for the Americas practice comes from Australia. The CEO has been with the company from the beginning, but is an autocrat, refuses to delegate and surrounds himself with Yes men (and a few Yes women). The CEO says he's open to ideas, but those ideas fall on deaf ears. The CEO talks of servant leadership, but again, only talk. The CEO says employees come first, but again these are completely hollow words. The CEO is also a screamer, which I find incredibly unprofessional. Overall, the culture is one of distrust (which is why staff are not permitted to buy a client a lunch without a ridiculous amount of pre-approvals or why staff are not permitted to book their own flights and hotel rooms) which is the single greatest reason for the excessive employee turnover.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Delegate management responsibility. Get off the antiquated internal systems and invest in the type of new technology you recommend to clients (start by dumping your internal Pivotal CRM system and getting to Dynamics CRM). Don't be afraid to hire some A players. Overall, stop being penny wise and pound foolish. When expense reports for a company of this size go to the CEO, you're focused on the wrong things.

Former Employee - Business Development in Vancouver, BC (Canada)

I worked at UXC Eclipse full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Interview process was good. Current Microsoft Dynamics Partner. People are skilled.

    Cons

    - BC Canadian Offices NOT run properly.
     - Do not practice what they preach pertaining to Servant Management.
     - Management of CAD operations disappointing - no team collaboration - Executive in charge of Canada has been milking one account for years and afraid to grow North American business.
     - Team members very judgmental
     - Afraid of change and to move forward
     - No Name or Brand Recognition
     - No strong partnerships because of Executive in charge of Canada
     - No pipeline despite 4 years in Canada
     - Have not built relationships across Western Canada
     - Executive are threatened of a SUPERSTAR coming in and getting it done!
     - No feedback given about performance or if they are concerned about something
     - CAD Executive afraid of taking in new ideas
     - No clear defined plan

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't be afraid of change -

Management needs to take courses - refresh courses

AUS offices unaware within CAD offices and the damage being done -

When you have a SUPERSTAR in your offices - don't feel threatened - embrace them and allow them to be successful -
    .
