I have been working at Undertone full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Undertone is usually a step ahead of most others in the business, and if not, they're plotting how to take those steps in a really smart way. As a mid-level employee I feel valued and respected in my position. Execs are accessible and company information is distributed transparently. We're at an exciting place in the business with our new programmatic offering and that will help the company bounce back from the dip in standard display all ad networks across the board are seeing... selling high impact programmatically will be what changes the game and keeps Undertone at the top of the network list. I'm a satisfied employee and while things aren't PERFECT, they are definitely great and always improving. No one here is afraid of change.

    Cons

Silos exist between departments leading to sub-par cross-departmental communication, sometimes huge salary gaps between mid-management and employees (when employees are often the ones pulling the weight of the team), salary and wage freezes in Q4 which has some in a period of pretty low morale

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay out bonuses in full, give raises and cost-of-living increases for employees (almost none were seen in Q3/Q4), $ will keep the good ones here because the company is great. Don't forget to reward the employees that put their heads down and do the work.

I worked at Undertone as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

The right amount of people working so you can get to learn everyone's name, there's always training opportunities to get ahead in the marketplace, a ping pong table, beer cart, company lunches, and fun employee events!

    Cons

Since most of the workspace is open, it can be difficult not to be distracted by others.

    Amazing Company to Work For

I have been working at Undertone full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Amazing company culture. Work hard/play hard mentality is a perfect balance. People are extremely hard-working, but enjoy the work, and always with a smile on their faces. Super smart colleagues that are always challenging themselves and continually learning. Company appreciates hard work by promoting from within. Folks really take pride in working at Undertone and it shows in their passion for the brand. The company also has a great reputation in the industry and I can easily see why it has consistently won awards for being a 'Best Company to Work for'.

    Cons

There are not many downsides to working at Undertone. The base hours are a bit longer than most companies and they don't match employee 401K contributions, but they make up for these in other ways.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the 'play hard' part of the 'work hard/play hard' mentality so that employees continue to enjoy coming to work every day; without it, you risk employees getting 'burnt out'. Consider matching employee 401K contributions.

I have been working at Undertone full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The people and culture are the top reasons to work here. The work flow is steady, challenging and rewarding. If you put in the time to make your position a success, you are recognized by mgmt and your peers and rewarded accordingly. Put in the work and you will enjoy UT as a place to grow.

    Cons

As with any company, inter-dept. communication is always a struggle. It's not any different at UT. But you have to work around it, find innovative ways to fix the problem and move onward and upward.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Mgmt is great...they recognize the individuals who help make the company a success. Continue on this path--it means a great deal to the departments that their hard work is noticed.
