    Pros

They contract to big companies like JPMC, AllianceBernstein, etc. so you will have good resume experience.

    Cons

Everything else. Only work here as entry level and make sure you leave in a year at most. The pay is low because they take a big cut of the cost of contracting you. There is no upward mobility or lateral movement. You "bosses" will not work on site with you, so they really have no idea who you are or how hard you work and you will never get noticed if you are a good worker. Senior level techs / managers are only there because they were lazy and complacent and couldn't find another job and so stay there for close to a decade til they could move up. Promotions are not based on merit. Anyone who has a brain would leave this company as soon as they could. It is not the type of place for a top-level performer. If you are in school, however, it's a great place to get started part time and even maybe a year after college, simply for the big names you can consult for. But after you get your resume experience, LEAVE. They do not cultivate growth or care about workplace morale. Their only goal is to fill requests and keep contracts, you're really nothing but a workhorse and they can replace you anytime. Raises and bonuses? Forget about it. Benefits kick in after 6 months and it's not a big whoop. They do not match 401k. Again, this company is full of COMPLACENT workers so get ready to be thrown under the bus if something goes wrong on your project, it's all about seniority here and they won't listen to you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop being so greedy. Stop sub-contracting. Get direct clients, treat your employees right and give them the pay they deserve. Management needs to change. Anytime we called the office it was always someone who hated their job that picked up their phone. Not really a place with good morale - do something about it. Give benefits EARLIER if you are going to be so cheap with the pay. I had a higher level position with the company and literally have hired technicians for you at $10/hour - that is nuts. They deserve better, pay them right.

I have been working at Uni data

    Pros

Unidata holds numerous contracts with large firms (e.g. Alliance Bernstein, JPMC) that have large infrastructures. This allows movement between roles if necessary and exposure to the IT infrastructure.

    Cons

Extremely huge cut for overhead costs of maintaining the consultant environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Offer extremely competitive salaries for the top techs.

    Pros

The best reason to work there is you're supporting a major corporation.

    Cons

Reviews are rated at a 3 even though the comments and feedback from customers are all good. Before working for them my work was viewed as a 4 rating for 5 years straight. They promise advancement and growth but there was never any new positions. The company does not match an employees 401k. Tuition assistance is allowed only if you agree to working for them the next 4 years after graduating. They downsized every year for the last 6 years. No raises are given and the bonus were cut from a few thousand dollars to a few hundred. The help desk is outsourced and teh clients are fustrated and it makes it difficult for a technician to fix some people problems because they've been on the phone with first level for an hour.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Match the 401k of employees. Develop talent instead of keeping them in their current positions.
