    Pros

work like balance is nice. I enjoy being able to work from anywhere. It really allows for personal enjoyment to be had when you can manage things from home.

    Cons

Issues with the on boarding process and a lack of clarity in requirements.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Specialize teams more, there are some that are too broadly defined the focus gets lost.

    Pros

    * Competitive salary with good benefits
    * Great people to work with in general
    * Excellent communication and collaboration tools
    * Flexible working environment with home/virtual working options
    * Good financial backing from Siemens AG and the Gores Group

    Cons

    * No pay increase in 5 years
    * Steady downsizing for the past 3 years with a major downsizing (50%) this year
    * No budget to do anything creative
    * Large churn in Executive Management fosters instability and insecurity
    * Communication with Senior Management is one way

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    * Communicate the reasons behind the decisions that are being made and the actions that are being executed
    * Clearly communicate the goals of the corporation and how each employee's objectives help achieve the goals
    * Reallocate some budget away from executive programs towards employee initiatives
    * Be more approachable with ideas and suggestions from employees

When the company was Siemens it was great then Unify took over and it became a stressful slow death.

I worked at Unify full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The co-workers were great. Very professional, knowledgeable, helpful. Siemens was very diversified so I had the privilege of working with people of many different nationalities and beliefs. It was a pleasure to work with so many sharp individuals.

    Cons

As Unify the upper management/invest group is only interested in the bottom line. Most positions are being eliminated in the U.S. and Germany and moved to Greece, Bulgaria, etc. I'm pretty sure that if some very talented people in the U.S. and Germany are eliminated that the product quality will dip and put what was once a proud and great company into a tailspin that they can't recover from.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't look at just the bottom line. Each product has key personnel that must be retained.

I worked at Unify full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Compensation is industry standard; benefits have been reduced - no 401K matching; Lifetime PTO reasonable time off with years of service; must use days in the year. Heard that the number of total days in PTO offering was reduced company wide in 2015. Technology is new and exciting. New branding; new edge on the competitive UC marketspace

    Cons

Very low market share in the U.S. You will have a hard time feeling the success. High turnover of sales and sales direction. Week channel distribution strategy.

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in Reston, VA

I worked at Unify full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Great co-workers (those which struggle to remain), flexible work schedule, and work from home program.

    Cons

General lack of direction, financial management through sweeping; layoffs, employee benefit dilution, employee benefit removal. The latest action was to reduce "US" PTO (sick/Vacation/Flex) by 10 days. The justification was that part of the "savings" would be used to partially restore 401K matching (yet to occur - 50% on 2%) which were "temporally" suspended 5+ years ago.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember that the employees are the "heart" of the company, continuous innovation key to success, and morale crucial to momentum.
