Large, diversified company with a good benefits program. Very stable company with low turnover. Has some opportunities to advance based on performance and motivation.

Cons

Opportunities for advancement can be limiting. It is a mining company, so wages are not as good as other industries. Communication between management and employees has improved, but is still lacking at times.

Advice to Senior Management

More open communication about the critical path that Unimin is following would be helpful to the employees. This has improved over the years, but is still lacking in some ways

Pros

Unimin is great if you are in s good division.The health insurance is good. Operation division is the best to work in. There are a lot of promotion opportunities.

Cons

Analytical Services and R&D is the worst. It is poorly managed all the way to corporate, the salaries are also the lowest even though it is the most educated division in the company.

Advice to Senior Management

Unimin is an OK corporation unless you are unlucky enough to work in Analytical Services or R&D. Everyone in the whole corporation knows it but nothing is ever done.
