I have been working at Unison Site Management full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Speaking of the sales team: If you are willing and able to perform, you will be rewarded. If not, you will be looking for a new job fairly soon.

    Cons

Training really depends on your manager and on your ability to figure it out quick.
If you're considering a big career shift, this is probably not the place for you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't keep people on just because three years ago they brought in a lot of business. Move on.

Former Employee - "Site Development Officer" Aka Inside Sales Representative

I worked at Unison Site Management

    Pros

Awesome fellow employees- all hardworking & cool
Occasional contests to win free office lunch/$25 gift card
    Employee support

    Cons

Deceiving managers- talk behind closed doors, act like they care about your success but just want the sale
Sales scripts that mask the truth about the offer
Money hungry upper management- make bad business decisions, don't listen to employee suggestions

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You should have sold to American Tower when you had the chance.

Former Contractor - Real Estate Paralegal in New York, NY

I worked at Unison Site Management as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

Gave me my first paralegal job, which opened more doors for me down the line.

The employees(mostly) were great. They really helped me understand the process and procedures of Unison.

    Cons

I was a temporary employee so I didn't have days off, benefits, etc.

Lead counsel played favorites and didn't try to hide it. Kept being told they were working on keeping me...but told HR they didn't need me.

CEO favors sales team over any other team. If the legal team caught any mistakes by the sales team, we were told to HELP the sales team and not blame them for US not teaching them how to do their job.

I have been working at Unison Site Management full-time

    Pros

By and large they leave you alone on a daily basis

    Cons

Lack of integrity. They will screw you out of a commission any chance they get. Their whole business model is to take advantage of unsuspecting site owners. In fact, their whole training is about telling a lie convincingly. Senior management likes to make money at the expense of their employees. They don't care whether or not you make money, as long as they do.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get some integrity

    Pros

Unison is a small company so I have had a lot of opportunity to learn and to grow. Great to work at a place where you can learn on the job.

    Cons

I have been with Unison for more than three years and have truly enjoyed the experience

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The management team is truly driven to succeed. Great to work with highly successful people.

I worked at Unison Site Management full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent salary for the area. Easy job. Free soda.

    Cons

Where do I start? Unethical management, unethical business practices, no accountability for anything. The management team are mostly friends of the CEO, who have little experience with their job title. The office environment is mostly like a high school home-room - meaning that if you're in with the right crowd, you can take 3 hour lunches - if not, well you're treated poorly. The health insurance had terrible options as the business grew. The decisions made for any project are simply just "fix now", as opposed to searching for a long term solutions.

Competent but cutthroat company. Sells a questionable product good for very few.

    Pros

Autonomy, but then again what good is that at a place like this?

    Cons

Immoral at bestl. Perhaps it is the mantra of American business but at this place it is every man for themselves and the higher up in the food chain you go here, the more that is true. Stars leave to compete with them. And the remaining high flyers are despicable, but so in tight over the years with the CEO that he has nary a clue. Whether a customer, client, carrier, whatever, the company cares little except to add to its own bottom line.

    Pros

Compensation is reasonable but not worth the pain.

    Cons

Employees not valued. CEO micromanages. Managing directors are a group of back biting idiots who only do what CEO says to avoid his venom.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Avoid this place. It will only end badly.

    Pros

    Well capitalized.
    Good leadership.
    Good management willing to help.

    Cons

Month over month changes in focus.
More reactive to all the market as opposed to proactive. They are the industry leader and may want to position this more.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Update your marketing collateral. Get on the phone and get good stories and feedback as support to back up your claims of success and client satisfaction.

    Pros

Nothing good to say except an occasional free meal. I really made a huge mistake going to work there. It is really a shame that management are buffoons.

    Cons

Micromanagement to the MAX. Stifling atmosphere. Advice to applicants RUN FAR RUN FAST. Get outta Dodge...or you'll wish you had made a different career choice two months into it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give people some air to breathe. Stifling
