    Pros

    Easy learning experience
Great for PC techs starting their first job
    Sort of flexible days
Boss not on your butt all the time
Very easy work after you become experienced.

    Cons

Very very very low pay, I can go get a job at a grocery store and get this kind of pay!
Ruins your car, they don't care, nor do they pay enough to be able to fix it
No room for advancement or promotions, your either a tech or a manager...good luck getting that without 15 years in
Techs don't get promoted or raises unless cost of living goes up(which in 5 years it happened once...)
If your Next business day, you will stay there, wont be able to go to same business day( don't know why??)
very micromanaged on mileage and call times
way to much admin work for the pay
get paid garbage but expect us to dress like we are CEO's
hard to get problems with dell solved
blamed for problems with Dell computers
shown time and time again we are replaced at a drop of a hat, no sense of job security.

I have been doing this for over 5 years and at the 2 year mark I have been trying to move on to more tech jobs, but you literally cant! Everyone sees hardware repair, hardware repair, hardware repair and they say "well he doesn't know software, NEXT!!!" This job will RUIN your career, STAY AWAY FROM UNISYS UTS BREAK FIX POSITIONS!!!!!!! You cant leave!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

DONT BE SO DAMN GREEDY! Stop trying to figure out how to make it very hard for us to get a good pay and keep it! Pay us better and we will do what you ask. You pay us crap and expect us to perform like your paying us 20 bucks a hour.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cut the bureaucracy and political "turf building". Retain employees with merit raises for the general staff in lieu of executive-level increases.

    Pros

Good if you have mainframe experience, but they are losing the customers at a rate of 3 to 5 per year and only have 120 customers in the mainframe space.

    Cons

Very political. Many workers have been there 20 or 30 years. Stagnant technology. Hugh pension load. Leadership is lacking, as most managers are trying to get ahead and don't care about their people.

    Pros

Benefits changed over the years but were very good. Worked with many people who were interested in seeing me be successful & were very supportive. Potential to move forward but must know the right people.

    Cons

Rely on yourself to find work/life balance. Depending on your position, you could be expected to 'check in' during personal time. Company supported training was (many times) politically driven. If they thought you were someone on the 'fast track' training was provided; otherwise, expect to do it on your own.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to remember "The 141-year history of Unisys is one of reliable, technically excellent, tenacious people". The majority of these people are the one's you rely on to get the real work done. You need to remember this & acknowledge that this is why you are successful. Hiring inexperienced people just because it costs less isn't always the better answer.
