I have been working at Unisys full-time

    Pros

Stable (Generally) if you do a decent job.
Ability to work remotely for most clients.
For most middle career positions you are given tasks or clients and left alone.
Because of telework model, easy to move around personally...meaning you can live anywhere.

    Cons

    Limited advancement opportunities
Draconian and repeated cost cutting efforts make raises and merit bonuses non-existent.
Low capture rate for new business...limits movement options internally.
Difficult to get training or education reimbursement.

I have been working at Unisys full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Quick hire, no hire decisions. Somewhat flexible on hours, although the workload makes it difficult to work a less than 45-50 hours a week.

    Cons

Working at the client site, so it is a subpar working environment

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take care of your people...make sure they have the tools and the proper working environment.

    I worked at Unisys full-time

    Pros

-Generally offer a good starting salary, but raises are nonexistent in the US.

-They provide good office technology, mobile access, etc, but do not encourage a flexible workplace.

-Strong presence globally provides the opportunity to work on international projects.

-Appears to be a good place to work if you live in India.

    Cons

    I really hated working here:

-Abysmal senior leadership! Greedy glorified bean counters, yes men and colleagues of the CEO who think they can grow the company by continuous budget cuts, layoffs and offshoring.

-Disastrous recruitment. Anyone who talks a good story and rambles off meaningless buzz-words is IN. Management is completely threatened by those who can produce actual results. Recent grads: your inexperience and low salary requirements are welcome here.

-Merit increases are not even addressed by management in the US. There are no raises but they are generally quick to counter when you give notice. Don't fall for it, the industry is too dynamic to waste you time at Unisys.

-Offers a portfolio of mostly dated solutions to a market that considers the company irrelevant to begin with.

-Depressing workplace with a corporate culture straight out of Dilbert cartoon.

    -Zero employee appreciation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To the Board of Directors: You have a leadership crisis. Bring in an executive team who knows how to grow sales and innovation within the company.

I have been working at Unisys full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Easy learning experience
Great for PC techs starting their first job
    Sort of flexible days
Boss not on your butt all the time
Very easy work after you become experienced.

    Cons

Very very very low pay, I can go get a job at a grocery store and get this kind of pay!
Ruins your car, they don't care, nor do they pay enough to be able to fix it
No room for advancement or promotions, your either a tech or a manager...good luck getting that without 15 years in
Techs don't get promoted or raises unless cost of living goes up(which in 5 years it happened once...)
If your Next business day, you will stay there, wont be able to go to same business day( don't know why??)
very micromanaged on mileage and call times
way to much admin work for the pay
get paid garbage but expect us to dress like we are CEO's
hard to get problems with dell solved
blamed for problems with Dell computers
shown time and time again we are replaced at a drop of a hat, no sense of job security.

I have been doing this for over 5 years and at the 2 year mark I have been trying to move on to more tech jobs, but you literally cant! Everyone sees hardware repair, hardware repair, hardware repair and they say "well he doesn't know software, NEXT!!!" This job will RUIN your career, STAY AWAY FROM UNISYS UTS BREAK FIX POSITIONS!!!!!!! You cant leave!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

DONT BE SO DAMN GREEDY! Stop trying to figure out how to make it very hard for us to get a good pay and keep it! Pay us better and we will do what you ask. You pay us crap and expect us to perform like your paying us 20 bucks a hour.
