I have been working at Unisys full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Unisys has a lot to offer me, but they are not fair about it. With that being said, pros would be my coworkers have a ton of experience and advice to offer. The company is knowledgeable in their areas of expertise. Work form home options, compensation when traveling, fair vacation and sick policies, and somewhat stable employment if assigned to good projects.

    Cons

Salary and incentives are terrible. One significant raise despite two significant promotions. Company is experiencing hardships, thus salary increases are infrequent/non-existent, layoffs, and there is too much overhead in terms of upper management (those who don't actually contribute to the bottom line or client relationships). Seems like the people that are actually making the company money are paid terrible. Company charges client way more than the actual employee doing the work will see. I've had four different HR managers, and only met two in person (none of which I worked with on a regular basis).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Respect and compensate employees who are actually contributing. increase salary for those who have done time, have contributed to the success of Unisys, and who have awesome performance and great reviews (especially those who have reviews from clients and coworkers). When your valued employees are complaining, you know the company is doing something wrong.

I have been working at Unisys as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

OK in all departments. Can do better when it comes to treating their employees.

    Cons

Salaries are low, not market standards.
Management is rigid, not open for newer technologies. Need to open eyes and let young and fresh minds take over.
Brown noser will of-course move fast upwards and go places.
Executives are fearful and insecure of their positions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to open eyes and let young and fresh minds take over.
Let bright ideas come in and let people be creative.

    Pros

Steady income with no raise, EVER!

    Cons

Maneuvering around the office bureaucracy and practices of hiring by favoritism (clicks).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Racial overtones against India or other minority groups and placing favorites in underserving positions. Handle meetings in a professional manner; labeling terminated employees in a derogative manner, insulting customers in leadership meetings, belittling subordinates in emails, etc...

    Pros

Better than no job at all...I suppose.

    Cons

Pay is low, Hours are never certain,no management. Some people think a job like this would open the doors for them in terms of experience, it doesn't. Dealing with hardware only is the start up of a dead end job/career.

I have been working at Unisys full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible Hours. As long as you get the job done management usually doesn't contact you.

    Cons

Worked in VA for Unisys as a field tech for a couple years in VA. Was asked if I wanted to move to Albany, NY because they needed help in the area. I agreed and moved from a stable position in VA. Got to Albany and was lucky to get 15 hours a week. Management kept promising an upturn in call volume so I didn't seek other work. I was laid off shortly after that. No moving expenses reimbursed, just a pile of debt. Thanks Unisys, you're swell.
