    Pros

None anymore! Used to be when we had management that gave a crap about employees!

    Cons

Employee hostile environment. Disingenuous when using words like "co-worker", "valuable employee", etc because all the while they are saying such things, they are harassing and intimidating employees up to, and including, termination for trumped up reasons. All one has to do is read the other posts to get a feel for this place. I once worked for the best airline ever and now I work for the worst management ever...bar none! Funny thing is that it's the same company...in name ONLY! Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this TITANIC!

    Advice to Management

Well obviously QUIT! Let someone who is much better qualified and much more intelligent run things! Stop LYING to employees and stop HARASSING and INTIMIDATING those who produce the revenues!!! DUH!

    Pros

Good medical, dental benefits, flights benefits were good, harder to get on flights now.

    Cons

Since the merger with Contiental airlines many of the United airlines policies and/ or way of doing business have changed and not in a positive way for employees.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Good job for those just starting out. Not if needing employment to live on and live a decent life.

    Cons

Lot of hours working different shifts. Because you are working so much, trying to travel in your spare time difficult. Also, airline tends to overbook, so difficult to get on flights. While you are vacationing, you are worrying about how to get back to your home, if you will find availability. Standby travel not worth the time or effort unless you decide to travel in off-peak time, such as Caribbean in hurricane season.
Working with customers, as expected, can be very stressful. Everyone wants a bargain without paying for it, you are the front line for weather or mechanical issues--stressful. On other hand, meet wonderful people from all over the world.

    Advice to Management

Adjust shifts to when busy time at stations with more staff.

    Pros

The benefit package is second to none for this entry level, part time status. The company appears committed to the growth and development of its employees and offers many tools to that end for employees to access.

    Cons

The salary is extremely low given the cost of living where I reside. The near constant threat of outsourcing has lead to a decline in moral such that many employees are convinced that they are no longer stakeholders or part of a meaningful team.

    Advice to Management

Continue to recognize the development of staff as the key to outstanding customer service and thus to the long-term success and growth of the airline. Further, do not put the shorter term goals of shareholders and their demands of rapid growth ahead of the mission to provide superior service.
