    Pros

Free flying benefits, Good work Life balance

    Cons

Bureaucracy, IT system selections were poor

    Advice to Management

No objective reorganization in IT. Many people hold the positions in team because of the friendship they hold. Management avoids hard decisions and is scared of changing people from teams. Many people are used to only one team and are very possessive about their products or projects. Unless there is movement at Director/MD level , there will be too much protectionism happening.

    Pros

I worked for a great company called Continental Airlines,at the cargo facility. We had the best operation at Ohare.

    Cons

After the merge of Continental/United Airlines. It was clear to us they didnt like Continental Cargo doing a good job and making UA cargo look bad since they outsourced UA cargo. So the board decided to outsource Continental Cargo system wide and ruin a great operation.

    Advice to Management

Work on being nice to both sides of the company,I hear it lopsided.

    Pros

You could get ur foot in the door being a flight attendant. Trading isn't too long only 5 weeks. Great base locations.

    Cons

Theyre so cheap. They don't pay you for training at all. They want you to pay for your first uniform. They want you to pay airfare 75% discount. And pay to and from work. The ppl that work for the company as flight attendants looks ran down like as if they don't make much money...

    Advice to Management

Give up on the union thing already. Its not working, majority of ur employees are unhappy and even switching airlines.

    Pros

The airline industry is a fascinating industry. UAL like most airlines has multiple areas of opportunity throughout the company ranging from marketing to finance to operations. Flight benefits are fun.

    Cons

Slow upward growth, with many management layers to navigate.

    Advice to Management

Continue to improve / define company culture.
