I worked at United Bank for Africa full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

A disciplined and corporate organisation with goals for the good of all not only in banking but in all facet of life.

    Cons

None up till my retirement after 35 yrs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Rapid professional growth for hard working staff and regular review of renumeration to create that niche for leadership in the country. All pensioners should be given medical facility and the Bank must ensure that their pension is properly calculsted by the Pension Managers as all are being ridiculously paid as some items like housing and furniture are not included in the payslips as they are paid bulk yearly

I worked at United Bank for Africa full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Made good friendships while working with UBA

    Cons

Poor work life balance, bullying of junior staff by senior colleagues.
    poor communication of job functions

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

more attention should be placed on the management of new entries into the organization and more on how each banks branch is run or managed. management needs to pay more attention in creating a clear business model/structure for the bank. Be EXPOSED AND COMPETE. find a different way to be out there because competition is not sleeping; neither should you.

    Pros

Being a global bank with presence in 19 African countries, UBA is the right place to work,

    Cons

There are too many processes that drags project execution timeline. Also, being an ancient Bank, many of the policies around governance are ancient..
