My experience at UCFS was a good one. I had many good opportunities for growth.

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) Westlake, OH

ProsWorking for UCFS is like working with a group of friends or family. They offer good training with a decent pay and benefits while working in a clean environment. The hours are decent for those seeking full time and they offer overtime when available to trained employees.

ConsThe hours are great for those seeking full time or over time but there is little flexibility for those seeking part time or flex time. The attendance policy is rigid which is necessary for them to keep their office staffed but it makes it difficult for someone who has family obligations or wants to pursue higher education.

Advice to Senior ManagementDo away with the old school thinking and stay current with business trends. Consider revising the culture of the office and do away with the "this is how we always have done it" mentality. People from all backgrounds should be treated with respect and made to feel part of the company not treated as if they were just lucky to have a job there.

It was bittersweet. My coworkers kept me motivated, management discouraged me and was not helpful. Work an entire year

Instant Credit (Former Employee) Westlake, OH

ProsVery easy job. Days go by fast. Some coworkers are very helpful. The actual calls are fast pace.

ConsWorking in fear of being terminated due to infractions.
There's an "in crowd", during night shift in the instant credit department . if you're not in it, be cautious of what u do.
    Poor management.
    They nitpick at certain people.
Terrible Pay rate if u aren't bilingual

Advice to Senior ManagementBe mindful of who you hire as a team lead.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Fearful backstabbing children

Contract Buyer (Former Employee) Westlake, OH

ProsIf you're in the in crowd it's a cake walk. Small company so it is easy to get to know everyone. Just be sure to get with the right people.

ConsPolitics, favoritism, no one is looking to improve themselves or each other. They are very much for the status quo. No family benefits

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to the agents on the floor. Be more personable. Just because you get the leave at 5, doesn't mean you should ignore the people that work until midnight.

If you're looking for great teamwork and respect...RUN THE OTHER WAY

Account Services Representative (Former Employee) Westlake, OH

ProsSet schedule, decent pay, coworkers are very nice (not supervisors), very festive around holidays, very straight forward tasks, expectations, and goals,

ConsCondescending supervisors. Will not listen to any feedback or ideas from employees. No flexibility with absences even in a medical emergency. No communication as far as winter advisories or morning delays. Do not expect to grow or be valued at all. Extremely outdated equipment/operating systems.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to your employees. Stop making everyone walk on eggshells because of outdated policies or personal vendettas. Stop targeting certain employees just because they think outside of the box and feel that things can be done differently

    Major let down

Instant Credit (Current Employee) Westlake, OH

    Prosnot in downtown cleveland.

    HR personel is very friendly

    Cafiteria is very well equiped

Filtered water stations free for all.

ConsIf you are working a normaly shift including a Sat. or Sun. don't exspect to get it off even though they will promiss you a flexible schedual. Taking time off is and "incedent" and 12 and they fire you. managers will tell you one thing but do another.
The benifits suck. You can't get health care for your family unless you are a level 3. but no one seems to know how to become level 3 with out being a manager but it is possible?
You have to work for a full year before you get 1 week of vacation. Most offices offer 2 to 3 weeks prorated from the time that you start. They do not offer dental nor vision insurance.

Advice to Senior ManagementRe-evaluate your benifits package. We work with computers all day. Eye insurance should be a must and health insurance for the family as well. Also, your vacation offerings are a joke. 2 week min. for the first two to five years then a week per year up to 5 weeks is normal for offices in this field. Also, sick time would help productivity because people would be able to take the time off needed to get better sooner instead of spreading it to half of the staff.

very low morale, energy of the people are fearful of being terminated for small infractions

Data Entry (Current Employee) Westlake, OH

Prosthey have decent pay to start if one has at least an assoc. degree, however, there is no such thing as a weekend off even if requested. no insurance was the other bomber.

Consemployees are not encouraged nor permitted to build any type of repore with one another for fear of consequences. Too much power given to low level management that talk to fellow employers like garbage. raises are seldom given and if so maybe a .25-50 cent at most
