    Pros

Wonderful coworkers and members are friendly. Many giveaways for employees (concert tickets, amusement park tickets, baseball games, etc.). Closed Sundays. You get a full day off in the week if you work a Saturday. Small enough company that you get to the know the people in other departments. Heavily involved in the community and local charities. Low sales goals (compared to banking).

    Cons

A lot of changes in upper management/HR. Good insurance, but EXPENSIVE! Lack of real training when I was hired. Because the company is smaller, it is difficult to advance. Wage lower than other competing and local credit unions. They say they're not sales-heavy, but it still feels like it. Too much focus on meeting numbers.

    Advice to Management

Even if I had no sales goals, I would still talk to members about products that would benefit them.

    Pros

Great people make this place an exceptional place to work.

    Cons

Benefits and vacation time aren't competitive with other offers. It's been a trade off to work with great people. This would be an amazing company if the benefits and vacation time matched what many of the companies in Austin are offering.

    Pros

Great place to work if you don't have a college degree and want to work hard to move up and receive decent pay. Mostly positive staff an management. Great benefits. Great job of making you better as an employee if you are willing to seek it out and ask for it.

    Cons

Much of Upper Management is unpredictable and changes their minds on policies and procedures. Expectations at one branch can be different than another. Changes are made with out all of staff properly being informed. Also, raises are minimal and capped even if you work super hard and do a great job. This gives those who work hourly the feeling that they can work hard or just perform mediocre to get the small annual raise. This tactic seems to encourage lethargic employees.

    Advice to Management

Clearly state how each policy and procedure should be executed and update informative webpage (Portal) when changes are made.

Small company so limited opportunity to grow.

    Advice to Management

Continue to look at development of your staff. Look at reporting hierarchy within each department.

    Pros

The Credit Union has a "people helping people" philosophy. Lots of really good, hardworking people work throughout the organization. Excellent benefits.

    Cons

The organization doesn't function as efficiently or strategically as it could. The competency of managers and leaders varies dramatically. Employee talents many times are not utilized effectively.

    Advice to Management

Consider the root cause of turnover.
