    Pros

United Rentals was my favorite job. Our manager Hillary was amazing and as a team we all worked together to meet our monthly goals and if one was falling behind everyone would help as a team should (including our manager). She not only rewarded us for our hard work, the whole department felt like family and it was a sad day when we all heard the news in regards to the fate of our department.

    Cons

The whole department was let go without a warning.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work and get to know your employees. Take some time out and learn other processes and see where improvement can be made.

    Pros

    Helping customers complete their projects

    Cons

it depends on where you're located but there' isn't much room for advancement, even if you're flexible. they would rather hire outside than within.

    Advice to Management

Leadership training should be monitory for everyone in a leadership position

    Pros

Rapid growth with opportunity to grow with. Pays well with good job security. Fun atmosphere although a bit of a boys club.

    Cons

Company is changing and the climate seems uneasy for some of the veterans of the industry

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing.

    Pros

Excellent place to work. Great benefits. Employee morale is high - corporate support consistent. Awesome company to work for. Management helps create a positive work environment so one might look forward.

    Cons

There is such a demand for United Remtals equipment due to the quality and dependability that sometimes there just aren't enough backhoes or excavators to go around.

    Advice to Management

Please continue to do the excellent job you always do. Thank you for the opportunity you provided for me. Working at United Rentals was a blast!

    Pros

Great opportunities exist with this company! Compensation is best in industry, and across the board. Company values persons that are self motivated and have entreprenuerial spirit. Promotes from within.

    Cons

Must be self motivated, your ability to move up in the company is directly related to your relationship with upper management.

    Advice to Management

Spend time investing in employees! It's not always about the P&L.

    Pros

Great company to work for. They are growing and there is a lot of opportunity to advance. The have really embraced diversity and have a program for veterans. Pay and benefits are one of the best in the industry.

    Cons

The rules change as you go especially when it comes to commission and bonuses. I guess it's meant to keep you aiming higher but sometimes the goals are unrealistic. But the good pay balances it out so it's more of an inconvenience. The other downside is if you are a night owl. This industry is for early risers. 7am start time is the norm and sometimes earlier but thats the nature of the construction industry for most jobs. Sometimes that can be a problem balancing work with having school age kids unless you have support.
