    Pros

Pay is good. People really care. Room for advancement. You're positively affecting individuals lives and the nation's health and health systems simultaneously.

    Cons

24-hour schedule with weekends and holidays makes for an unhealthy bouncy schedule. Working conditions are awful. Big issues in a big world makes the individual feel small. Tendency towards callousness within the office.

    Advice to Management

Schedule innovation needed. Give workers the equipment needed, space to breathe without breathing on another, and the ability for each person to align some personal environment to boost their indivuality and soothe their hard-worn nerves.

  2. Overall, a good experience. Like all healthcare companies, always being asked to do more with less to cut costs.

    Pros

I enjoy working with the other ER staff, including other physicians, midlevel providers, nurses, clerks, all the staff are great to work with.

    Cons

Lack of primary care coverage in the community floods the ER with patients.

    Advice to Management

    Deal realistically with provider shortages.

    Pros

Nice work schedule. Good work/life balance

    Cons

Pay could be better. Minimal and expensive benefits for Weekend Package Staff.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

good place to work, veriety of cases, compensation, facilities were also good

    Cons

work life balance was bad, some of the providers preferred to refer rather than treat. Administration was a bit detached.

    Advice to Management

listen to the providers and stop leaving the hospital to go to meetings 150 miles away to learn how to run your office

    Pros

Company is decent. Fellow staff and management notice your hard work. The hours help balance work and home life. The pay is better than some jobs in the area.

    Cons

Even if you stress your worries to management, they don't seem to listen or care. If you show that you are a hard worker expect to have more and more dropped on your plate until you want to give up.

    Advice to Management

If you notice your employees are going above and beyond; prove it to them.

    Pros

The hospital I work at affiliated with Unity Point Health and we have gained many resources in the process. The every day running of the hospital has been minimally effected by the affiliation, but the positive changes are obvious in the improved outcomes of our patients.

    Cons

The affiliation required our hospital to change its name to reflect our new partnership. The community had grown accustomed to the name of the hospital as well as the logo residing on the sides of our building. It will take time to adjust to these changes.
