    Pros

They have always been a company I can say I was proud to work for. They have amazing benefits, and don't pay the bare minimum wage. They do put employees first.

    Cons

Moving up in the Company is very hard to do. I think the people that are in charge like to stay in charge and that rarely changes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look to the staff for better ideas.

I worked at Universal Studios Home Entertainment as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

The experience, overall, was amazing. You get to be creative, use your improvisational skills, and have quite a bit of freedom. Also, the bonds you make with your fellow scareactors, especially if you're lucky enough to work in a maze, will last a lifetime. The work is hard and the guests can be brutal, but in the end you'll feel really proud to have survived it; the adrenaline rush at the end of each night is a great experience. They also provide you with snacks throughout the night, although if you want an actual meal you'll have to buy/bring it yourself.

    Cons

It's technically "the nightshift", but you could end up working from 3pm to 3am the next morning, which can really mess with your head and your health. Physically, it's grueling. The mazes don't have air conditioning or much airflow, and the costumes are usually full-body including prosthetics or full rubber masks, so YOU WILL BE HOT. Constantly repeating the same motions takes its toll as well; I managed to really mess up my hands because I was banging on this trashcan with a metal pipe all night and I managed to punch my hands/fingers on the metal instead of the pipe. Odds are, whatever you're doing, you'll manage to hurt yourself doing it at least once.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    1) Performance bonuses would be nice. 2) Having security be more hands-on with the guests who get violent, especially the male guests who try to molest the female actors.

    Pros

Hires mostly smart, quality people who are passionate about their jobs. Executive team is adaptable, savvy and making the right moves in a challenging time for our industry.

    Cons

Need to navigate your own career path. Politics don't dominate as much as some studios, but they are present.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to demand high standards, and invest more in your staff. Tie compensation to performance.
