    Pros

Decent compensation, upward mobility, benefits, flex-time available for office staff, overtime available for hourly workers (but not mandatory).

    Cons

Some managers can be incompetent and/or condescending. Petty arguments are allowed to get out of hand.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Really make sure the folks that are hired into management are capable of performing their jobs, as well as handling the group of people working under them.

Former Employee - Coder in Cleveland, OH

I worked at University Hospitals of Cleveland

    Pros

    I was born at RBC!

    Cons

    ● Low pay, a meager raises, and dead-end job for most of the staff
    ● Separate and unequal training which is determined by ethnicity, despite that which may be documented. However, that does not refer to the veteran coders.
    ● Supervisor and Manager pigeonhole people based on ethnicity
    ● Repetitive, boring, and unrewarding jobs
    ● Staff could be decided as crude and unprofessional
    ● Office culture is beyond petty, and can be quite toxic
    ● The perception of supervisors and manager is they never do the right thing about anything
    ● Manager has poor problem solving skill
    ● People have been defamed, libeled, and blackballed unjustly.
    ● The level of respect give by supervisor and manager is greatly influence by staff’s ethnicity

Envious women in the department, unappreciated by management, pay raise only once a year and not enough of a raise.

I have been working at University Hospitals of Cleveland full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Pays well and continues to strive for growth. Will offer the community continued information about it's advancement studies and awards.

    Cons

Not a place if you are a minority, mainly of Afro-american descent. The culture is completely off balanced and many employees reflect the misinformation of other races. The balance of Afro-Americans is saturated within the maintenance and food services divisions of the hospitals. The high profile positions reflect the environment and its disproportionate opportunities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better Ethics training that covers the difference in race cultures and practices.
