I have been working at University of Arkansas full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexibility, great benefits package, early ability to vest in retirement, beautiful location

    Cons

The university has a policy of raising fees for campus parking every year without offering discounts to employees at lower pay levels.

    Advice to Management

Provide supervisors with more flexibility to provide merit based raises.

I have been working at University of Arkansas full-time

    Pros

The University of Arkansas is a great place to work. The benefits are excellent and it is a beautiful campus.

    Cons

Non-academic salaries are not competitive with the local private industries, but this is to be expected in a public institution.

I worked at University of Arkansas part-time

    Pros

The Enhanced Learning Center was very flexible with hours, allowed me to set up schedule around my classes so that I could come to campus, go to class, tutor, go back to class, and go home easily.

    Cons

Sometimes communication breakdowns occur. The ambassador system began to fall apart, and the online system needs a little work. Hopefully online tutoring will work.

    Advice to Management

Get online tutoring working so that tutors can work from home in the evenings instead of on campus. Bring back group tutoring sessions, instead of only having one on one or one on twos.

I worked at University of Arkansas full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It is great to work with students. The work atmosphere is excellent and you will meet great people. You will always feel rewarded by making a difference in student's lives.

    Cons

The pay is terrible and the medical benefits got worse. Do not expect promotion opportunities. The administration only cares about itself and will not reward you. You will have to leave the University in order to advance.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your people and they will not leave
