I worked at University of Arkansas full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The campus is beautiful! If you are looking to further your education and/or your children then the U of A is for you! Vacation time and health benefits were fantastic.

    Cons

Salaries are not competitive and very low in comparison to some other colleges. Parking is horrible and then they make you pay for it. It can cost over $500 a year and based on the average salary; you are paying to park! I'm all for growth, but construction is non-stop!

    Pros

Experience in my field of study. Tuition paid. Stipend is just enough to pay my rent and bills.

    Cons

Not many. I know this varies widely by department and direct superior, but I had it pretty easy. Based on conversations I had with others, you should NOT expect the same!
