    Pros

    - Working on cutting edge research
    - Working with some of the most brilliant minds in your field
    - Feels extremely rewarding

    Cons

    - Often pressured into working long extra hours
    - Not much of a work/play balance, but that's sort of to be expected

    Advice to Management

I think that the school does as good of a job as it can with its lab assistants. Most of my advice to management goes to practically any academic institution: pay more attention to your researchers and compensate them with a wage that is livable in such an expensive area.

    Pros

Fantastic people as coworkers. Typically very easy to get vacation days off and flexible telecommuting schedule. Great discounts on classes.

    Cons

It is a public university, so there is not a huge pay increase. Tendency towards team that are understaffed and overworked.

    Pros

Work for a large company, but a small school, so you get the benefits of working for a large company, but the close knit relationships from working for a small company.

    Cons

Communication is lacking. Departments don't share information with each other.

    Advice to Management

Take down the silos and share information.
