    Exciting, yet nerve racking

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Cincinnati, OH

ProsExciting university. A top research institute with impressive ambitions and achievements. Largest employer in Cincinnati and a wide variety of colleges and students. Also a beautiful urban campus.

ConsWork is continually heaped upon existing staff as responsibilities increase and departing employees are not replaced. Everyone tells everyone else how to run their jobs. Quantity is more important than quality. Pay is a tad low considering that the university is a public nonprofit funded by the state government. Budget cuts occur annually. The workload is frantic.

Advice to Senior ManagementValue the employees who are doing outstanding jobs. Do not sacrifice quality for quantity because it will only be detrimental to the university in the end. Realize that supervisors are often the biggest hindrance to better performance and to team-player dynamics.
