ProsFamily-like atmosphere, everyone is very close and friendly. I worked as much as I could while I was a student and they were very flexible with my schedule, including letting me work over summers.

ConsLots of hoops to jump through because it is union and education based.

Great pay (for a grad student), great benefits!

Graduate Assistant (Current Employee) Storrs, CT

ProsGood working environment, great pay and benefits. I will take a pay cut if I adjuct here after I graduate.

ConsTop heavy UCONN continues the "industry-wide" trend of sliding into corporatism. Emphasis of athletics sometimes outweighs more pressing concerns. Also the student body is rather homogenous. Adjucts make more than many colleges around Connecticut but they should still pay more.

Advice to Senior ManagementResist the urge to keep building shiny new buildings. You should instead be keeping an eye on the impending demographic collapse that is coming. Also, the college is top-heavy. Otherwise a great place to work!
