I have been working at University of Connecticut

    Pros

Storrs is a small town far from the distractions and is a perfect place to study. People here are nice and helpful. Grocery store and CVS are close to the campus. For college basketball fans, we have strong men's and wonmen's basketball team.

    Cons

There are not many ways of entertainment since we are distant from city life. We have nice farms and delicious ice creams through.

I have been working at University of Connecticut part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The people are great, easy job, great for students looking for a source of income and a new group of friends. Not a lot of hours unless you request to have more, which is nice when balancing classes too.

    Cons

Minimum wage or slightly higher pay is low, but the job is easy so it is completely fair. Only hires students, and not very many. Dealing with customers is not always the easiest. Late night and early morning hours possible. You will work most weekends, often early in the morning or at night.

I have been working at University of Connecticut full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice working environment which is full of nice people. The university is situated in a very nice location which has easy access to Hartford area .

    Cons

The main issues are with the parking and Insurance. The old insurance plan we had was really nice, however the new plan does not cover most of the problems (dental etc.) The parking lots are situated far a way. Hard to walk on snowy, cold days. (specially when shuttles are limited during when undergrads are away)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Making the campus beautiful is reall encouraging

I worked at University of Connecticut full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Minimal work, managers didn't care if we were there or not. Pay was pretty good. We played monopoly a lot.

    Cons

Getting up early in the morning was tough. Not a ton a room for career advancement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep a better eye on employees. We literally played monopoly 4 days out of the week
