    Pros

University of Delhi's new faculty recruitment rules have made it mandatory for the Faculty to be a PhD. Thus, the teachers have the required knowledge.

    Cons

A lot of politics goes on. If you can survive it, then this place can be a heaven for you.

    Advice to Management

    None

    Pros

A good central university in India; it attracts some of the best students from a wide variety of backgrounds in India and from several other Asian countries, occasionally from Europe and North America as well; the salary and benefits are according to standard Central Government scales and therefore reasonably good; the healthcare benefits are good.

    Cons

Extremely hierarchical in terms of access to the administrative powers; the university bureaucracy is unfriendly, non-transparent, inefficient, and in parts pettily corrupt; internal politics interferes with academic interests in teaching and research; caste and class hierarchies are unfairly maintained; a very gender-insensitive working environment; the space for liberal academic engagement is shrinking there; not enough attention to work-life balance of employees.

    Advice to Management

Please try to ease, not hinder, administrative functioning for all faculty and students of the university; be much more accessible and open to two-way (instead of one-way) engagement with all the faculty members and students of the university.
