    Pros

Awesome people and environment in School of Engineering, supportive staff and faculty, nice polite and well behaved students. I really enjoyed working as a TA during my master;s program at UoG.

    Cons

    Pros

It is a great atmosphere, and everyone is super friendly. Because not a lot of people or students are around in the summer, you get to know people much better and see familiar faces all the time. It is nice to walk around campus and see a familiar face. It is a small community and i love it.

    Cons

Downside is that i work alone in the lab most of the time

    Pros

What can I say? I've worked all over the place, private sector, public sector for the last 20 years. Working here, at least where I work, is wonderful. Work life balance is wonderful, lots of support, you feel welcomed.

    Cons

Somewhat limited on career options in the field which I am working.

I have been working at University of Guelph part-time

    Pros

I rise early every day-preparing for the day ahead, I always wonder what issues may arise and the best way to handle such issues. I have worked at the university for 5 years now and feel that working as part of the hospitality staff is the hardest job I've ever had, yet, the most rewarding. Great benefits, good hours, friendly people and the appreciation is felt by most. I look forward to each day, always smiling, laughing and full of energy to complete another day...THUMBS UP!

    Cons

Communication is very important for all

Nice environment, lots of intelligent people, interesting campus, some good learning opportunities

    Cons

Lack of work/life balance, underpaid for the level/scope of responsibility, limited upward mobility, "cutback" culture which has deflated morale

    Advice to Management

Work harder on motivating employees and boosting morale with intangibles; opportunity for career growth, training, conferences, etc. instead of just work, work, work
