    Pros

    Caring physicians and smart students

    Cons

UMDNJ dissolved, so school has been absorbed by Rutgers and Rowan Universities. Leadership is very weak.. Holdovers need to be replaced with new blood and vision for future.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Prepare to be replaced with leaders who can lead.

I have been working at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

    The name of this institution.

    Cons

-procrastination is a common disease, I worked for 2 different department profs, each time they are late for deadline.

-The prof will do whatever to get a paper published. Manipulate the data, harass the RA with multiple calls.

-lots of internal politics on funding.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

hire someone who can get work done on time, that's the first step towards success.

I have been working at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

great opportunity to contact with patients; collaborate with the hospital for clinical studies; collaborations are welcomed and encouraged here, relationships among research labs are comfortable; very convenient location, close to NYC

    Cons

infrastructures are dated and out of function, especially the elevators; foods are not very healthy, so you may wanna bring your own everyday, no descent restaurants nearby either; campus is too small, no gym

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

improve the cons of working environment, such as improve the quality and diversity of cuisine served at the cafeteria; build certain facility for working out and entertainment

I have been working at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

On July 1, 2013, UMDNJ ceases to exist mainly due to 40 years of inept bureaucratic management, backroom political decisions and indifferent attitudes and poor work ethics of staff, faculty and administration. It will then become the problem of Rutgers University.

    Cons

Rutgers University appears to possess the same ineptitude, indifference and incompetence as UMDNJ. I predict a long, difficult and costly integration process that benefits few except for the politicians that forced this merger to take place for their own self interests.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Rutgers needs to conduct a thorough house cleaning of clueless UMDNJ senior managers and administrators who have never been held accountable for their poor performance. Bring some outsiders in with some vision and shake the place up.
