    Pros

8 to 4:30 hours were great.

    Cons

There were not really any downsides.

    Advice to Management

Maybe listen and reward for good work more often.

  3. Basic Student Work

I worked at University of Memphis

    Pros

They are flexible with your schedule and seem to generally care about you personally. Great coworkers and a nice atmosphere.

    Cons

Pay is a little low (for students), but nonexistent travel-time might make up for that for some people.

    Advice to Management

I don't have any real complaints, so I don't have any particular advice as far as student workers are concerned. I could complain about administration of academia in general, but that had no bearing on this position.

    Pros

Some people were very friendly and helpful to work with.

    Cons

The Administration was terrible. They have not idea how to handle money, had no idea how to manage students and professors, only cared about image. Additionally, everyone is expected to work far more than 40 hours a week, which is hard to do without overtime or any other type of benefits. The most lacking benefits packages are offered here.

    Pros

I'm an adjunct professor and get the opportunity to teach a variety of students and classes each year. It is an chance for me to pursue my love for teaching and share information.

    Cons

The pay is so-so. It is in many ways dependent upon each department's budget. It would be nice for an increase in salary and some other benefits. We do a lot of the "heavy lifting" in terms of class loads.
