I worked at University of Memphis (More than a year)

    Pros

The ability to work on homework or finish other job applications provides one of the greatest incentives for students to apply for this position.

    Cons

A large standard deviation exists in the quality of service fellow desk assistants demonstrate to the residents. This fact is also true among the immediate supervisors to the desk assistants, the assistant area coordinators.

    Advice to Management

My advice would be to invest in better residence life supervisors, as these represent a significant cornerstone to the student life at the University of Memphis.

I worked at University of Memphis (More than a year)

    Pros

Great retirement and insurance benefits as well as payment of tuition at any Tennessee Board of Regents college.

    Cons

The person I worked for hired me basically to fire me, I believe. She was very rude and did not train me and did not require her two other employees to train me. I am a somewhat older worker and she kept reminding me of that.

    Advice to Management

Make sure your supervisors are not bullying workers and take employee complaints seriously.
