I have been working at University of Miami Hospital full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Pay is good
I have a good relationship with my direct supervisor
For a person in my profession, getting weekends off is very rare, so having a schedule that is only M-F is very nice.

    Cons

Lack of respect for anyone but the money-making professionals (in the specific clinic, when you are not an insurance-billing member of the team, you technically provide no financial benefit to the system, and they therefore do not really work with you)
    A lot of un-kept promises
Promises of advancement tend not to come true

    Doesn't Recommend
    Positive Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

It is a teaching Hospital, knowledge can be gained.

    Cons

Administration does not support nursing personnel, I have experienced. Human Resources is sole commander of hospital, and is biased- giving no voice to nursing department.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow nurses to advocate for patients, and follow ANA standards of care. Support your nurses. Do not allow Human Resources to run the show, speak up for your nurses, especially the Nursing Administration.

    Pros

Great Benefits and opportunities to grow for some

    Cons

Hard working people suffer. Cheap office politics is an entertainment for some supervisors where only those with personal relationship survives.Discrimination is at its peak with the employee backstabbing. Performance review is a real joke where the favorite employee is encouraged to help create a trap to set the other employee for failure so that the favorite employee's can receive a great performance review and his/her promotion can be justified.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Act like professionals and a role model rather than setting a trap for hard working innocent employees to bring in or promote your near and dears. What a shame that management is using their power negatively to crush those with real talent to stop them from rising.
