I have been working at University of Mississippi as an intern (more than an year)

    Pros

Bosses typically do not micro manage. They are all willing to help you when you when in need. Very friendly atmosphere.

    Cons

They pay at Ole Miss is really not the best among public universities. Typically a wide age variety so some employees have trouble answering to younger superiors.

Could have been better for faculty

I have been working at University of Mississippi full-time

    Pros

Teaching load not so high comparing with other universities, esp. liberal arts colleges.
Students are nice and respectful in general.
The town of Oxford is actually nice to live in, very safe, and is growing. If you like warm weather, this is a pleasant place to live.

    Cons

Very hiearchical in operation. Faculty do not have much say in decision making. The workplace can be provincial, protective and closed-minded. No surrounding big cities, so job prospect for spouse is very low. Not enough effort has been spent on creating a more diverse and accepting university, even though top administrators claim otherwise. If you are a minority, this university might not be best choice. But, ramification can differ across departments.

I have been working at University of Mississippi as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros
