I worked at University of North Texas full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

As a temp employee, pay was decent and perks were okay.

    Cons

Lots of back biting and office politics, incompetent managers, and self-absorbed leaders. Upper management seemed to only care about their own reputation, and would gladly let you hang yourself. Ultimately, my lack of success at this job was my own fault, but I felt that it was brought on by a lack of mentoring and direction. The climate in this department was very hostile, and it left me feeling very uneasy. I quit after 6 months because I could see the writing on the wall, but by that time, I'd already mostly checked out. Shortly before I quit, however, two senior staff members resigned (to find a less terrible place to work).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I'd say, if you want to see a entry level employee succeed, you need to nurture and advise them. I'm sure if you read this, you'd say that it's not your responsibility to hold the hands of every person in the department. Yet, with a little training and help, I feel like I could have really succeeded in this position. Instead, I left in shame, feeling defeated and inadequate.

I worked at University of North Texas

    Pros

It had a very flexible schedule. There were plenty of workers to help pick up your shifts when needed. The supervisor was probably the nicest person that you could work for.

    Cons

There aren't really any cons when it comes to this job. Some times professors would be aggressive about things. Opening was sometimes hard because it was so early in the morning.
