I have been working at University of Oklahoma full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    I enjoy watching students grow.

    Cons

The pay is not commensurate with the amount of work required.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Instructors put in the elbow grease required for students to continue in higher-level classes. Pay should be commensurate.

    Pros

Great place to work, flexible working hours and amazing team of people. For a student job you learn a lot of important skills for your future career. The managers are amazing and they are always there to help you if you need help with something.

    Cons

I had no problems so far and I dont think there is any cons for this job

I worked at University of Oklahoma

    Pros

I enjoyed working with my boss and coworkers. Very little drama and very little expectations. It is a progressive and laid back culture with very little stress.

    Cons

The jobs can be monotonous and employees are not encouraged to take on more responsibilities. Administration seems to care very little about their staff and continues to hire from outside with very high salaries, which is seen as an attempt to push out staff.
    Almost no raises or bonuses.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have more faith in your staff and give them opportunities to take on new responsibilities or positions.

I worked at University of Oklahoma part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I had a really simple job working in OU's office of admissions for the Student Worker Action Team. The pay was minimum wage, but the hours worked well with my schedule. I liked the relaxed atmosphere and how nice everyone was.

    Cons

As a student who took classes during the day, I wasn't able to work that many hours, so I didn't earn that much money. It would be a great gig for someone who takes mostly evening classes. Also the work was a bit dull sometimes, but I was able to listen to NPR or the radio, so that wasn't even all that bad.
