    Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant (Former Employee) Ottawa, ON (Canada)

ProsThe working environment is very good. The professors are very nice. There is not much pressure. The salary is really great.

ConsThere were none. But the opportunity is very limited for international students.

Master of Applicated Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science

Student (Current Employee) Ottawa, ON (Canada)

ProsThis is a well-known university with a high level of education quality. Studying in Ottawa also provides students an opportunity to experience Canadian culture in capital city.

ConsLanguage is the first problem, and culture difference is also a trouble to all international students.

Advice to Senior ManagementMaking some friends from different countries can help a lot in my opinion. Those compatriots who had lived in Canada for several years will offer international students useful advices and relevant experiences in all kinds of aspects.

    TA

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThe job is only a half TA, but the workload is large. University give half TA because the class is small, but did not take the difficulty of the course into consideration.

ConsWorking as a TA on campus, the salary is great and the teacher is really nice. Hope I could have done the work very well to not disappoint the professor and the students.

ProsGreat flexibility of tasks, autonomy and role. You have the opportunity to work on many projects outside your job description if you show an interest.

ConsToo many employees are French only, discouraging to Canadians. A lot of red tape decisions even for the smallest approval of procurement or sourcing.
