I worked at University of Texas at El Paso part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The job is fairly simple, not much to do for the most part.

    Cons

Not having much to do is a con to me. I wanted experience in technologies that I haven't seen. I wanted to know the boundaries of my capabilities, and I also wanted a full time position after graduation.

In short, no space to grow at all.

    Pros

State benefits. Nobody cares, so just look busy from 8 to 5 and you will be fine. This is across the board, from interns to top administrators.

    Cons

It's all propaganda. Most claims the University makes about its achievements are fake/mislieading. No leadership at any level. No values. No rewards or incentives.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cut administrators salaries in half. Reduce the size of the administration by half. Treat teaching-faculty better. Force research faculty to teach more. Care about students.

I have been working at University of Texas at El Paso as an intern (more than a year)

    Pros

We have a lot of power over creativity and how we execute our events
    Huge desk and storage space
    We run our own meetings
Work directly with students and hear from them then they vote on events

    Cons

Work high profile events so we don't get to enjoy it
Not much communication between departments on the inside

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Do an internal communication review
