    Visiting Assistant Professor

    ProsThe university is centrally located in the center and has great facilities. Health care benefits are exclelent

    ConsPay is low for a required 4/4 teaching load. The administration is corrupt and they do things backwards. UT does not invest in retaining visiting professors. The administration also lacks a level of professional when it comes to communicating to faculty about renewal of contracts or lack there of.

    Advice to Senior ManagementHire more tenured and tenure track faculty.

    Consadministration is overworking the professors to lower costs. this is ignoring the long-term effects this will have on research, which brings in a ton of money in grants (the university takes ~40% overhead).

    I work at University of Toledo for almost seven years.

    Postdoctoral Fellow (Current Employee) Toledo, OH

    ProsI can learn new knowledge from numerous seminar. people are friendly in the department. There is no traffic jam in this city and living expense is low.

    ConsThe salary is low. There is no compensation for the additional work time. People can not take vacation time in the first year.

    Advice to Senior ManagementI suggest that people if work in the weekend should get the compensation and employee can take vacation time in the first year.
