Former Employee - Metallurgical and Materials Engineer in Toronto, ON (Canada)

I worked at University of Toronto full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Easy access in friendly media while reasonable salary and very prestigious job. Dealing with variety of academician and industry fellows.

    Cons

Being always updated while walking at the edge of science, commercialization of scientific findings. Shortness of research budget and lacking huge sponsor companies is now the generic challenge of researches in academic places even in the most well-known of them i.e. U of T.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Relay on researches and researchers, THIS IS INVESTING.

I worked at University of Toronto

    Pros

Excellent staff, reasonable pay, great opportunities for advancement (with the right supervisor), and access to a wealth of research resources. A beautiful campus located centrally in Toronto.

    Cons

As with many academic institutions, junior positions do not offer high pay. Paperwork and forms can sometimes take a while, particularly for workers from outside the country, or non-students.
