I worked at Urban Lending Solutions

    Pros

    The pay is pretty good!

    Cons

Understandably that process change every day but management was not good at training and then you would get dinged for not doing it correctly when you were never trained.

I have been working at Urban Lending Solutions full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Here are some good people that work for the company and have a wealth of knowledge

    Cons

Not a place for people with their masters degree as they tend not to promote people of intelligence. They don't care about you and have no problem giving pay cuts year after year. Been there 3 years and have taken a pay cut every year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at the educated people as an asset and not a threat to your job. They can help and some have great ideas hat could help move the company forward

I have been working at Urban Lending Solutions full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The Benefits you receive a date of hire

    Cons

The environment is stressful and management is not helpful and never around when you need them and nobody seems to know anything here and the HR lady they hired is rude and also has no knowledge of anything pertaining to her position

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please wake up and take a look at what is going in with the individuals you leave in charge who do absolutely nothing all day long but yet they get a managers salary and they have little to no knowledge on anything they are doing and all they do is hide in their office all day long and Ping their friends or MOC all day long!!!!

I worked at Urban Lending Solutions full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The only pro is the initial training program.

    Cons

First of all, Smith Global Staffing is the worst temp agency ever and should be shut down. They misrepresented the position entirely. The management at Urban was unresponsive, unprofessional and unwelcoming. The job itself was horrendous.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your people like human beings, not rodents. Introduce new staff members in meetings except saying nothing and making them feel completely out of place. Share breakfast that you bring in for your team with new employees!

I worked at Urban Lending Solutions full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Nothing, there is nothing positive about this company.

    Cons

Broken promises, wage cuts, abrupt changes in job description, when you move to different location, you move yourself (what a joke). Team leads and unit managers are idiots (what else do you expect for light weight high school graduates, with little or no college education). Corporate environment more like high school cliques. Urban Lending Solutions nothing more than a slave to Bank of America. BOA say jump, Urban jumps, BOA say sit, Urban sits. That's what Urban is, that's what Urban will ever be. Chuck Sanders, owner of company comes to job site, walks around like he's Hitler, no hello's, no how are you. Bio says he was a former NFL player. He was in NFL for 1-2 years, never played in games. His corporate leadership is like his NFL experience. Some say his wife is the brain trust behind the company. Whatever it is, Urban Lending Solutions is absolutely the worst company I've worked for and glad I no longer work in this pathetic corporate hell hole.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

No advice, they know who/what they are and they don't care because they are the only ones running all the way to the bank. Just another example of corporate greed.

I have been working at Urban Lending Solutions full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The time goes by fast as there is a lot of work to do.

    Cons

No raises or bonuses, hard to move up as friends are promoted from the outside.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If an upper management employee causes us to lose a contract, don't reward that person with another contract to ruin. Promote from within instead of hiring family and friends. Production senior leadership is good but it does not trickle down to the staff, learning organization has great programs but horrific management, human resources needs help and some new staff. They should not fire people based on one person's opinion or without at least talking to the accused person before they kick them to the curb.

I worked at Urban Lending Solutions full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The unlimited overtime was great, while it lasted. Pay was decent, I suppose.

    Cons

I could write a novel in this section. The company over-committed to its client and was subsequently flooded with more work than they could handle. As such, they hired anyone with a pulse and ran everyone through an abbreviated training program. Coupled with a lackluster focus on discipline and enforcement, the client's files were routinely in the hands of staff that weren't capable of working them. The customer service to the clients was poor, with long delays, and innumerable excuses for the excessive amount of time it took to process the files. Staff would take 2 hour lunches on the clock and either the managers were unaware or unconcerned. When the client began to wise up to Urban's inability to handle the contract, the client drastically scaled back on the files being sent. Reactive in nature, the company tightened up on overtime, started enforcing rules, started disciplining the staff for previously acceptable behavior, and started disciplining the staff for production issues regardless of effort. The training department was regularly attacked when the staff was incapable of required duties; in reality many of the staff problems were attributable to hiring employees with insufficient experience to function properly in this position.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a clue. As executives, your reckless approach at leading is a joke to all of your subordinates.

    Pros

Met some great people who were also trying to support their families.

    Cons

Company didn't care about employee needs. Being in a position where you have no power but are constantly forced to give bad news to your employees regarding days off or breaks or overtime was emotionally and physically draining.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More transparency and treating your people like people (ie: understanding they have needs and demonstrating a willingness to listen/work with them within reason). There was no respect from upper management.

I worked at Urban Lending Solutions full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Full benefits upon permanent hire.
    Very supportive team leads
Generally friendly and great people there, including upper management
Lots of training; I learned a lot but a lot of the training does not apply to the job function as trained.

    Cons

Constantly changing your role/team to meet client demand. These changes are chaotic and the training for the new roles in no way addresses all needed skills and processes. You learn as you go, but are expected to keep high quality for each case/call/file worked throughout . TONS of minutiae to deal with daily and it changes from day to day.

Not everyone gets the same pay for same work and pay was cut ($2 per hour for some; varied per person) for many when role changed for the client need. Choice was to accept the new position or ?? no transfers offered.

Sporadic to nil job performance recognition and not many incentive programs except the annual bonus .....

Bonuses cut for 2013 although we were originally told the company made 180 million in profit that year, then cut bonuses to 47% of original which is then taxed at 40% leaving you with about 25% of what you thought you would earn; by by bonus. Mind you this is measured by all year performance, work all year to keep your quality up an get ????

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more organized about role changes and give workers a heads up, so they can plan for pay cuts ,not just tell them the day it is cut; we all have a budget. Also if your client need changes that should have already been in the business plan and not taken out on workers and their families with pay cuts

As to bonuses; Don't tell people we will give you this percentile and then cut it. Again this should have been planed out of the profits for the year and put aside for workers BEFORE paying shareholders. These calculations should be easy

The workers are the ones that actually deliver the product; no workers, no honey for anyone. You might consider keeping your worker bees well fed.....
