    Pros

Employee discount on clothes that aren't already on sale. Excellent opportunity to develop your vocabulary in a non-academic environment; I am now familiar with a multitude of Urban Dictionary's "word of the day".

    Cons

Working with lazy "cool" kids who do little to work as a team on tasks is exhausting. Especially, when the management does not monitor the employees workmanship. Often times there would be two employees chatting at a station while someone did a majority of the work and picked up their slack.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do your job and stop trying to be besties with the employees, it's unprofessional.

All good fun until they start promising you promotions...

I have been working at Urban Outfitters part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

There is no dress code here, which is cool for people that can't spend their checks on clothes and record players ya know. Usually a friendly environment to work for, if you suck up to the right people that is. They are flexible with schedules and let you request days off, but two weeks in advance.

    Cons

There are more cons then pros to be honest. Management can be ruthless at times. You will get promised that you're going to be moving up, but unless you kiss a** hard it's not going to happen. LP management is a joke at this company, but thats a different story. Co-workers are full of drama and love to spread rumors, especially at the store I work at. The pay is ridiculously low. Oh you've been working here for a year? Here's 20 cents. Sorry we can't pay you enough to even meet the living wage in this city. lol Favoritism? You bet, you can actually count on it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop promising your employees that raises and promotions are in their new future. Be professional. Stop coming to work hung over. Throwing up in the bathroom while your employees are actually doing their job? Cool. APPRECIATE YOUR EMPLOYEES. I barely hear any of you saying "good job" to anyone that works here. Have some decency and make your employees happy about coming to work instead of making the environment miserable.

I worked at Urban Outfitters part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great employee discount, relaxed dress code (they don't stress wearing the Urban brand at all times), and flexible scheduling.

    Cons

Terrible customer base, high turn over rate with management, coworkers can be a nightmare, and intense favoritism with the scheduling and promotions. You're told that the company looks to hire from within, which really means bringing someone from a rival chain as your new department manager and then having the sales associates instruct them on company standards.

I have been working at Urban Outfitters part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    Many hours during holiday season
    Discounts
Great environment, awesome managers that did not think they were better than you and were not rude, they also got the work done!
Okay pay! Job is not that difficult, but your feet will hurt! It's retail.
Freedom to express yourself, virtually no dress code

    Cons

Closing...but this is a given. Most retail jobs have this problem, but I am okay with it! It's not too bad.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    You're doing an amazing job!

    Pros

No dress code, great discount, fun co-workers, excellent advancement opportunities, cool music and floor sets that are always changing, fun clothing to work with

    Cons

Rude customers, lack of appreciation from management, occasional favoritism, training for new hires is sometimes not sufficient and could use more guidance

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Appreciate the employees more, they deal with more than you think when it comes to customers.

    Pros

Fun, flexible, hours based on how productive you are, nice customers, good employee discount.

    Cons

I have been working at Urban Outfitters part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

GREAT discount. Make friends with coworkers. Flexible hours/shifts *theyll work around your school stuff. SOME good managers. Great vibe from corporate

    Cons

HORRIBLE managers. very disorganized/inefficient. lost of favoritism and mistreatment. dont train new hires and basically screw over the associates, leaving them to run fits and train the new hire, or greet and train new hire, etc.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

pay attention to your employees. we are the reason you guys have a job and if you don't treat us right, we don't want to do anything for you. take action when you see employees abusing power or not being nice to new employees. actually train new people so that your associates dont do it for you

I have been working at Urban Outfitters part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The atmosphere is very relaxed, although daily sales goals are important it is not drilled into the employees.
A very good job if you are attending school/college/university.
    Interesting and pleasant co-workers.
    Understanding managers.
    Generous employee discount.

    Cons

Some of the work can be a bit monotone.
If you are new you feel a bit unappreciated especially if you have background in retail sales.
If you are new you also do not get enough hours a week.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Distribute important tasks between your employees.
