    Pros

My coworkers and boss are awesome. We try to do weekly lunches as a team or part of a team, and the work schedule is very flexible so you can work around your class schedule. When you have down time you can do your homework.

    Cons

This particular position can get monotonous over time and can be boring at times but otherwise I have no complaints about the job.

    Advice to Management

Management really seems to care about their employees and helps you with your needs so i don't have any advice for them other than to keep doing what they are doing.

    Pros

Plenty of opportunity to develop you as a person and tons of learning opportunities. The student energy is very powerful and knowing that you are making a difference in other people's lives is so cool. Tuition Waiver is the best thing! But the pay is ridiculously low in order to get it. Other pros, tons of people to meet who are good and genuine and then they are few bad apples. Retirement package is great.

    Cons

Low salary for having a Bachelors. You need a Masters to even try to get anywhere. Even then the hiring process is ridiculous and very subjective. Not all departments are equal. Some bosses micromanage some don't. No clear pathway for leadership, way too many politics and no lead positions or way to create a clear path to grow within the organization. Favorites were a big issue.

    Advice to Management

Some people are in leadership roles and yet they don't know how to manage people or how to mentor and develop their downlines and the ones they do are usually there favorites so if you're a hard worker and don't mesh with the boss, you are out of the realm of getting the right mentoring to move up. They aren't willing to forgive and move on and some people in the ear of people in power are destructive and downright mean. (I'm sure you know which Admin I'm speaking about.)

    Pros

-Flexible Schedule -Good pay -Good Co-workers -Tuition benefits even for part time staff. -Great opportunities for advancement for proactive staff members (must be willing to shuffle departments a little).

    Cons

-Parking can be tough especially if you arrive after 9am. -Some positions can be repetitive ( depends on what you position is and which department) -Public transportation can be limited if you work after 5-6pm

    Advice to Management

They are doing a great job, I really enjoyed my 2 years working there. The position I had wasn't one I'd try to make a career out of. However I could have made a career at UVU if I chose to pursue a full time position.

    Pros

the benefits, I mean you can't beat free tuition and fees

    Cons

The pay sucks, and there is a culture of backstabbing and running and telling the manager if you do anything remotely wrong. ( like stop at a vending machine on your way to your area )
