I have been working at VCE full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

They'll fill you with certifications and give you an on-boarding experience second to none. Lots of opportunity for anyone willing to put in the effort. Work-life balance about what you'd expect from an EMC company but they're improving on that. Great products and company vision. Serious commitment to customer satisfaction and success. Leading the way in converged infrastructure.

    Cons

Workhard culture. Sales management 110% focused on numbers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay a little more attention to work-life balance, especially for the tech folks.

I have been working at VCE full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good compensation & benefits
    Solid product

    Cons

    Work balance is non-existence
You have to be part of inner circle to advanced or get promoted.
Processes are broken and year after year you hear same promises of improvement.
Half of the AM are clueless how to sell and what to sell.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Lack of top-bottom communication.
Value your employees, help them do their best, trust them, recognize them.
There is no manager evaluation which is not constructive if you have someone who should not be in that position.

    I worked at VCE

    Pros

Converged infrastructure buzz with leading technologies from industry leaders.
Management's egos make meetings worthwhile watching them strut like peacocks.
    Benefits are good.
    Dallas is centrally located.

    Cons

    Lack of ethics from management.
Management expects those in the field to have same lack of ethics and sell at all costs while trying to figure out how to meet customer needs post sale.
Continual fighting with extended team from EMC and Cisco as the last thing they want is their products sold as part of a Vblock.
    VMware reps don't care.
VCE just a glorified vendorgrator that stacks other companies products.
Avoiding professional contacts you've sold to at other companies because you want to maintain the reputation you worked hard to build with them for being ethical, honest, and trustworthy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't leave VCE as there are few companies that would tolerate your lack of ethics and leadership while letting your egos run wild.
