I have been working at VELUX full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent salaries, flexible work hours, work from home (head office), wealthy company means long term investments with more time to mature. Friendly culture and solid values.

    Cons

Not many career progression options. People seem to work for VELUX for many many years, so workforce is also a bit aged. Things move slowly because of almost no competition.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More focus on career progression options, talent manegement and MBO (managing by objectives).

I worked at VELUX full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

I worked as a territory manager in VELUX Australia. The company is very accommodating to the personal needs of employees. VELUX has a great work culture with a strong team spirit. Information is shared freely among departments and good results are celebrated as team achievements. I was given autonomy in servicing my territory but help and support was readily available when needed

    Cons

No structured approach to helping employees develop professionally. The company strategies are not communicated clearly other then "grow the sales".

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If people are your best assets , as claimed by VELUX Group, please invest wisely in nurturing, growing and retaining them.

Former Employee - Student Worker in Kokkedal (Denmark)

    I worked at VELUX

    Pros

One of the biggest companies in Denmark, still a leader in the industry. Decent benefits even for very junior employees. However one can feel that this company isn't public and has a very well stocked money-chest. One get's a sense of arrogance and complacency.

    Cons

Horrible power struggles in mid-level management. Incredibly poor sharing of information between departments outside of core divisions. Very frustrating work environment in the business support divisions, and I was only working part time. Heard lots of very frustrated full-time employees vent their frustration and saw the best leave.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to limit the destructive power-struggles in mid-level management. Communicate clearly what the tactics are for each division in order to avoid individual managers being able to justify their personal crusades.
