Pros
I can learn about the industry while still being able to attend school and be close to home. It is a great way to break into the business.
Cons
The market that we cater to in creatively limiting and can feel repetitive. It is also difficult to move up quickly.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to expand and listen to your staff's ideas as they come up. Look to the future and be innovative.
Pros
Independant atmosphere, good pay and benefits.
Cons
lack of direction from top management, mixed signals to the field
Advice to Senior Management
Product lines should be driven by market place not just by Finance.
Pros
Benefits, stock, 401k, flex time
Cons
Hiring and promotions done unfairly, doesn't promote from within, poor pay, no incentive raises.
Advice to Senior Management
There needs to be more emphasis placed on developing employees and promoting from within.
Pros
Great company to work for in Nashville.
Cons
Fairness among various departments was not something that was often done.
Advice to Senior Management
Look at the management in the credit department and why employees often are pushed out or leaving.
Pros
Being involved with sports is a big plus. Also the environment is casual, we wear jeans every day. Management is positive and interacts with associates regularly. Flexible work hours either 7-4, 8-5 or 9-6 schedules.
Cons
Overall a good place to work, but there is not much advancement opportunities unless you go to work for other VF Brands.
Sometimes there is too much buddy, buddy systems going on. Company is very male management dominated. Need better or stronger employee benefits.
Advice to Senior Management
Try to improve office moral and our corporate culture. Give employees more incentives on a quarterly basis. Implement better communication tools between management and associates. Improve technology within our office.
Pros
VF is doing very well as a whole.
Cons
Downsizing and outsourcing are rampant.
Pros
Travel, good creative work, pace of work not overbearing. People are great to work with for the most part.
Cons
IT, IT, IT. So behind it hurts everything from communication to product development.
Some administrative departments have more power than they should.
Advice to Senior Management
Put money back into the business... fix the infrastructure so it enables the employees rather than inhibits them from doing their job.
Pros
benefits and hours were good
Cons
Management terrible in CS they should rotate management. Some people were given informatin how to learn new things while others were not and could not learn to move on
Advice to Senior Management
Rotate Management While we were working too many were friends with the manager and they were favored over others. Some were taught new things and others were not taught based on how they were favored by the manager.
Pros
Diversity of work is great
Cons
Sometimes hard to manage work/life balance
Advice to Senior Management
we are back on track
Pros
Management tends to operate in an entrepreneurial management style, so you can make an impact if you are driven and work hard. Great people that believe in working hard, but also make work/life balance a priority.
Cons
Imagewear had pretty high turnover when I was employed there. Imagewear doesn't fit squarely into the overall strategy of VF Corporate, so at times the division doesn't receive the resources or the focuse it needs. Tough to transfer to other divisions for opportunities.
Advice to Senior Management
Employee retention should be a focus. Create opportunities for employees to rotate around within the organization; will create more well-rounded employees, with more loyalty and better results for the company.
