I worked at VMC Consulting as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

    Ability to gain excellent experience

    Cons

Management does not appear to be stearing in the same direction

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Meet, plan and speak as one unit. Keep your promises!

I have been working at VMC Consulting full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Its not hard to do iOS troubleshooting. Pretty simple job all in all

    Cons

The point system is bogus. The insurance is hella expensive and offers coverage to their network doctors so good luck with that. So working 40 hrs a week, no insurance, and a shoddy point system means if you get really sick, and you can't get a doctors note, you get a point or 2 points on the weekend. And that's when you feel like just a number. Just a disposable number.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just keep doing what you're doing with work but seriously consider revising this cut throat, iron hold on attendance or you will push away those who are a valuable asset.

I have been working at VMC Consulting as a contractor for more than 3 years

    Pros

The vendor contract position I got from VMC is well compensated and the company has provided satisfactry supports. The stress level, compared to the one I got from the position where I was FTE, is much much lower than FTE position and pay level is comparable or slightly better even though other benefits such as medical are lagging just a bit But overall, I recommend the company to look for contact positions in IT field.

    Cons

Negotiating pay level with the company is tough but it is not just with this compay. You have to prove you are worthy enough to ask for raise.

I worked at VMC Consulting as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

The admins were all great to work with

    Cons

The COO of the company, is Verbally abusive, belittling, condescending, and yells obscenities at the top of his voice. Human Resources does nothing, except store any complaints about him under the carpet. This man has had so many people complain about him, but the Manager's turn a blind eye. If you decide to become an admin there, remember you are expendable and you don't matter.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the people that actually do the work, instead of just the brown nosing managers.

I have been working at VMC Consulting full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Decent pay and hours. Being a vendor for Microsoft isn't bad because you get a few of the perks. Alright benefits once you qualify.

    Cons

You are still just a vendor. In my experience, you are almost always hired by an employment agency, then they will keep you on after a year. During that year, you pretty much get no benefits (vacation, PTO). No real opportunity for advancement.

I have been working at VMC Consulting as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

There are some great people, I've established a great relationship with a specfic recruiter which has absolutely advanced my career. There are a lot of job 'options' so you can always utilize different skills. A good company to get things to put on your resume, but not a career.

    Cons

Benefits are a joke (it's a 'savings opportunity') which is essentially coupons worth less than your weekly premium. I lost my $500 FSA last year to a company no one could ever get me in touch with. They take a LOT of your salary, they have to in order to cover the ridiculous overhead. I have 3 direct managers at VMC (all of which have changed at least once in the 5 months I've been here) and they can never directly answer my questions, it takes at least 5 emails to get an answer to "where can I pick up my paycheck?"

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cut out the middle man, or at least 3 of them.

I worked at VMC Consulting full-time for more than a year

    Pros

This position is based in an excellent environment and the culture is second to none. There are several other companies working in conjunction in this environment with many many opportunities to advance or change roles.

    Cons

Can be stressful when it gets busy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reducing the team size will not increase productivity. It only generates more stress from higher workloads.

I worked at VMC Consulting full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Decent salary, but nothing close to industry standards.
Impressive contracts, although quickly driven into the ground by incompetent management

    Cons

Horrible "stab you in the back" mentality from anyone above middle management
No support from HR when reporting unethical or harassing behavior
Faulty HRM systems, constantly messing up paychecks
Upper management with zero regard for employee morale

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

learn from your failures. Perform a top-down scrub, and remove "leadership" positions where all of the work is delegated to subordinates. Offer reasonable benefits

    I worked at VMC Consulting

    Pros

    Decent salary for the area.

    Cons

Lack of proper oversight. Inconsistencies in management styles. Poor communication.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There were many inconsistencies in what we were told to do, what our client Apple told us to do, and what worked.
