Pros
Passionate, community driven, amazing benefits.

Lack of opportunities at the top. Not a lot of feedback good or bad. Not much training or development.
Advice to Senior Management
Spend as much time developing people as you do developing atmosphere.
Pros
The salary is very competitive with other agencies in the area
The benefits are top notch
Free beer on tap
Challenging work that varies from client to client
Management generally has a strong grasp of the work expectations
Cons
Sometimes long hours are expected to complete client work
Sometimes praise is only given to those higher up in the project stream
Pros
They have great benefits and great people to work with.
Cons
There can be big clients that demand long hours.
Pros
Flexible hours, dress code, and great atmosphere makes VML a great place to work. Jon Cook is very inspiring which keeps the employees happy and motivated.
Cons
VML is one of leading digital agencies in Kansas City which makes to very difficult to stay ahead unless you as an employee are also keeping up with the latest trends. Sometimes our lives make it hard to always stay in "the know".
Advice to Senior Management
Keep doing what you're doing because you're all a great example that hard work will pay off in the end.
Pros
I love my job. I will say that it really depends on which alignment team you're on, though. My current Technical Director is wonderful and knowledgeable which makes a huge difference. I have had a few others that I just didn't mesh well with, but I think everyone has that at times. The opportunity is always there to move to the right spot within the company.
Cons
Every once in awhile there are some bad apples but to no fault of the company.
Pros
Everything. The culture. The benefits. The management team. I'm a huge fan.
Cons
The expect a lot from their people, but I felt like they did a good job of making me want to give them nothing less than my best. It was a win win.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep it up! The company socials, the beer on tap, the competitive pay along with the AMAZING work you produce should keep only the best there.
Pros
Leading edge technology and opportunities to work on some exciting applications and accounts. Great place to work out of college.
Cons
Long hours. Business model required head down focus on the "now" at the expense of employee development. It's a bad sign when weekly *rah rah* meetings have an overabundance of 'thank you" messages being given based on the number of hours put in by recipient.
Advice to Senior Management
Manage. Lead. That is you job. Stay out of the "weeds" and let your people drive out solutions.
Pros
Flexible work environment, great clients, smart-coworkers. VML really does look after it's employees, with a great benefits package, social activities and office space. Along with this their client list is world class, you get the opportunity to work with some really large project and companies. A number of offices throughout the USA and world, means there is opportunity to move around within the company. Also the atmosphere is relaxed and casual.
Cons
Adequate information sharing is sometimes lacking. Along with this, because of the business the company is in, long hours are sometimes needed. But this is the nature of working in such a fun creative industry.
Advice to Senior Management
Better information sharing structures.
Pros
The work environment is so friendly and inviting. Creative ideas seem to surround you constantly due to the work place. The support you get from your peers is like non i have never experienced. I feel as though i was a part of this family before i started. Another reason is the support you get on your benefits. VML pays for your health insurance and dental. They have matching to a certain limit on your 401 k as well as your flex spending. And they also cover you if your hurt, very comforting.
VMLl also has outstanding social events that bring the company together, sometimes it food and drink, sometimes its art and music, sometimes it is community involvement. All make me proud to be a VML employee. I feel very luck to have this job.
Cons
In this face paced industry its hard to take the time to acknowledge those who help you the most, and what that individual or individuals had to sacrifice for the company. I can count the late nights i have put in, never to get a thank you or a simple email.
Advice to Senior Management
Acknowledge those who work 70+ work weeks to help get a project finished, relying on employee recognition seems to be a constant disappointment. As well as Discipline those who slack during the work week that cause a domino effect to the reason others have to sacrifice there personal and social lives to pick up the slack.
