I have been working at VNA Healthcare full-time

    Pros

The management is friendly and willing to listen to employees, but changes based on employees input are rarely done.

    Cons

Caseloads are HEAVY. Office is understaffed and scheduling is disorganized. This makes it hard to get your day started and finished in a timely manner. Nurses plan on doing a new admission every day, this takes away from seeing your existing patients.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be honest during interview process, managers give nurses the belief that they will have days completed on time everyday. One manager even tells stories of how when she was in the field during the summers she would go home and hang in the pool with her daughter in the afternoons and go back out to see patients later in the day. This is unrealistic and will never happen !

I worked at VNA Healthcare full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

One reason to work at VNA is you get to help all sorts of people that really need your help.

    Cons

Not always are you treated with respect by patients or your peers. A bit clique.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The clinic needs to treat their employees with more respect because with out them, you could have all the grants in the world but good people are hard to come by.
