I worked at Vacation Resorts International full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Vacation time/sick time
    Use of resorts for employees
Good way to gain basic job experience
Never asked to take home work

    Cons

Expect to be micro managed here, questioned on every move you make even going to the restroom. At 12 per hr in a call center environment taking 60-100 calls being yelled at by owners all day can make one lose motivation. On top of that the tremendous administrative work load that they do not tell you about in the interview.

Over worked due to the high employee turn over here from employees quitting or getting fired. once a employee leaves you are responsible for picking up the slack and once you fall behind on your assignments expect to reprimanded.

There is a tremendous lack of professionalism amongst fellow employees, management and resort general managers.
There is a weird company culture, if your not in the club or buddies with one of the managers expect to be talked about behind your back in a negative way or worse get you in trouble with HR. The managers are not experienced in managing people and will talk to you like a child. Many expectations are unrealistic with management and resort managers as well, the moment you cant deliver you are treated like you are the worse thing to ever set foot in the place.

They do occasionally promote from within or have other department openings, but don't expect a significant bump in pay, but almost guaranteed to get more work. Raises are between 1-3% annually if you are able to meet the ridiculous standards the place has put in place.

Many Rules, seemed like the staff was getting emails on a daily basis from management on new rules put in place, it made for a very difficult working environment. If you are not perfect in your 90 day review period expect to have it extended another 90 days, even if you get sick one day expect to have your probation extended.

If you do take this job just keep to your self, fly under the radar and stay out of all the employee drama!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat people with respect, have professionalism and listen to employees. improve on leadership and company culture, too much negative attitudes around this place.
