    I worked at Valencia College

    Pros

Great benefits and lots of time off.

    Cons

Blacks and Hispanics are being used in front line positions to give the illusion of diversity. Valencia discriminatory hiring practices toward non-whites for upper level and full time faculty positions are notable. Subtle discrimination is live and well. Whites hold almost all upper level positions and full time faculty positions. College President Sandy Shugart only seeks input from minorities when it benefits him. He recently sought Sen. Darren Soto and Rep. Mike La Rosa (both Hispanic) to advocate for a new campus in Poinciana. Of course if the project for the new campus is approved then College President Shugart will look very influential. Let’s see how many upper-level positions and Full Time faculty positions at the new campus will be filled with minorities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get over yourself. If you are going to promote the college in the name of the black and hispanic communities then give these groups of people a chance in having betting opportunity. Valencia hiring practices is unfair and pure bias.
