I have been working at Valeo (US) part-time for more than a year

ProsCareer path support. Employee benefits. Good work environment.

ConsLack of quality oriented culture (in terms of continuous improvement). There are not six sigma development plans or SPC analysis to evaluate and analyze trends.

Pros- Challenging as they throw you into the job right from the first hour. No training, everything you will learn while working. You can learn a lot in first 2 yrs as they will give as much responsibilities as you want.

ConsNo growth, very flat structured organization. Pay, below par the average

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to the engineering requirements

Well organized company in a tough business

Program Manager (Former Employee)
Rochester, NY

I worked at Valeo (US)

ProsGood systems, opportunity to learn in a structured envirionment. Experienced coworkers provide good support and advice. Opportunities to move within organization if you are willing to move. Regular performance reviews and pay increases - not too high though!

ConsThinks the world revolves around them sometimes. Too willing to take business at any price. Cost reduction is emphasised too much on existing products rather than next generation designs - always seemd to be chasing the cost target. This firm has limited US opperations and therefore has a limited geographic footprint.

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus more on indirect costs rather than direct labor, do not quote at a loss or break even just to win contracts

You can Develop your skills in Valeo

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Valeo (US)

ProsHere you can develop all the experience you can, so if you are really good you'll make Valeo look good, If you are a person who likes to take decision and be responsible for it, then Valeo is for you, just like it is for me, because we have a lot of people who is not commited to the firm.

ConsThere is not Human Resources sense, there is no real promotion of teamwork.
I am sure that Valeo would shine as in the past, if they really promote a good working enviroment and honestly is not about the salary, it is about people feeling good working in Valeo.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagers are the ones that need to make decision happen, so we need to focus on what is really important and make things happen.
