    Pros

Great ER doctors, nurses, techs, & staff!

    Cons

Poor staff to patient ratio. Managers do not listen to their staff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The staff are on the front lines & know what needs to be improved; listen to them. Happy patients & employees=successful business.
It's a shame that the same mistakes are made; money is spent on the wrong things here.

    Pros

benefits, cafeteria, inappropriate handling of employee issues

    Cons

Professionalism is not exhibited by management and lines are crossed by upper management. Directors seem to feel they are unapproachable and no loner need to prove anything. They have arrived where they want to be and the heck with everyone else.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE, MANAGEMENT NEEDS TO BE EVALUATED IN GREATER DEPTH THAN PERHAPS THE LOWER LEVEL EMPLOYEES SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY MANAGE. HOW CAN THEY MANAGE IF THEY DON'T HAVE THE PROPER TRAINNG AND SKILLS TO DO SO.

    Pros

Dirt cheap health care, dental, tuition reimbursement, paid time off.

    Cons

Hard to advance your career if you don't have clinical experience. Not a lot of mid-level positions.

    Pros

Friendly work environment for the most part

    Cons

Poor leadership skills. IS has a huge turn over rate therefore they loose very talented people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn how to listen to your employees and not to retaliate. Identify that there is a problem in your department when you have a department if approximately 70 people and within a year's time 15% plus have left for one reason or another.

Current Employee - Ultrasound Technician in Ridgewood, NJ

    Pros

Employees stay here... there is a low turnover. The environment is very nice to work in. People follow the protocols, policies, and procedures and everything is very well organized. The compensation is competitive, but so are your colleagues. The people that work here are good at what they do and you can learn a great deal from being here.

    Cons

Sometimes too many policies and procedures are followed to a fault. It is the "stepford wives" of hospitals in that regard.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more appreciative of the hard work that the employees do here all year around, not only during rad week or holidays. Keys should be given for the flexibility that your staff shows in their schedule and for their good teamwork. Being too rigid with your staff about vacation and personal time off is not good, especially when your staff shows you flexibility for coverage on short notice when the hospital needs it. Recently this hospital reduced sick hours.
