I absolutely loved working at Valley Hospital in the NICU, great place to work.

    RN NICU (Former Employee)
    Las Vegas, NV

ProsAlthough the NICU was small, the NICU nurses, i felt were the best in town. The teamwork there was awesome. There is free CEU's, and certifications, insurance was fabulous.

ConsUnit is closed due to restructuring

Valley Hospital's corporate is only concerned with the bottom dollar

    Patient Service Representative (Current Employee)
    Las Vegas, NV

ProsSome of the co-workers are great.

ConsUHS which is the parent company does not care about the employees that work for them only on keeping their profits up.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to the employees, don't ignore them and consider them expendable.

    ProsPay is fair, low stress.

ConsLuckily I work nights, so I don't have to deal with a lot of disgruntled techs.

    Horrible!!

    Registered Nurse (Former Employee)
    Las Vegas, NV

    ProsI can't think of any.

ConsAs a RN, the nurse to patient ratios are HORRIBLE. 1:7 and I was even forced to 1:8 one night. There were a couple of good charge nurses, but for the most part you had to fend for yourself! Avoid this place at all costs!!!

    Valley Hospital Internship

    Intern (Current Employee)
    Las Vegas, NV

ProsThe internship program at Valley Hospital is excellent. The training provided during each rotation could not be any more complete in my opinion. The cases are very diverse and the patient load is adequate to allow developing comfort with managing a wide array of diseases. Didactics are top notch as well. The program also offers the ability to work closely with interns from other specialties, including family medicine, internal medicine, and neurology. Valley also offers a traditional rotating internship. The salary scale is also very competitive compared to other programs.

ConsIf I had to pick one thing that could be considered a negative, I would reluctantly say the educational stipend should be given to interns, especially those who will continue on at Valley Hospital for their residency.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
